You think? People keep saying that and I'm sure it'll change. Certainly as the content gets more and more pro and more this makes sense. But it makes more sense that TV web navigation solves the problem. So instead of going to channel 4, I go to NBC.Com on my TV. That way they can brand the entire site and I can still watch my shows.

Anyone else have thoughts?

I agree AJ . The problem with web only content is that you can't share the experience with others except via forums or communities. Television and movies are popular because the whole family or your friends can share the experience at the same time with you.

When the content available on the web is as easy to view as the programming on TV, then you will see a new era in entertainment. I believe it is those content creators that are embracing the new technology and creating content now, that will be ready for the big transition when it happens. Hopefully the Indie content creators like myself can take advantage of the this unique time in history and make their mark on the entertainment industry.

Thanks for engaging on the dialogue, Lance. You're right. TV is about the community experience. Movies are even different because you really get the groupthink when you're watching something in a theater. TV is a chance to bond. Internet is a way to connect.

Though all of this brings up the interesting discussion of interactive teelevision. That takes your family bonding experience and turns it into something more, no? When you can engage your chacarcters and make them do things, or play along with a game.

Even though we're not fully in the place where internet TV is real, interactive TV already seems to be making headway.
